The basic needs of humanity is something that comes as second nature to so many people, so we tend to either just forget about It, or blatantly ignore all the problems. The harsh reality is that no matter how hard we try, it will never go away and our silence is not helping anyone.  There needs to be a change now, and it starts with you.
To the people who know me, they know how much I love and have a passion for food, so can understand how hard it is to give up one of the greatest loves of my life. But while I go to bed dreaming of what I’m going to cook for breakfast thousands of mothers are going to bed terrified if they will be able to feed their children. It just seems impossible that something like that can happen in the 21st century, especially with the amount of food we simply chuck away.
But it does not have to be this way, and the difference can start with you. I can completely understand how hard it is to donate to something that you may not be able to see, or where you will not be able to see how your action has made a difference. Everyone wants to live in a better place, and everyday people are kicking themselves to do something that will brighten the world around them, as well as bettering themselves. This could be it.
Right now approximately 1 in 9 people are undernourished, and although they might not be next to you, this does not make them any less real or their suffering any less important.
Please help me reach my goal of $200.
